We bring all the necessary equipment for a full treatment.  We will set up and prepare the area.  We will talk you through the next stage.  After gowning, we use conditioning spray to untangle the hair and make it easier to examine.  Hair is sectioned and we will go through the hair with a specific lice comb that can easily find lice in the hair.

Treatment

Lice oil is applied to the head and allowed to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Thoroughly apply the treatment product to the scalp and hair, ensuring complete coverage. Conditioning spray will be added to the hair to minimise discomfort when extensive combing will take place. Clinician will then go through hair section by section, hair by hair if necessary to remove all the live lice and as many eggs as possible, using a special spiral tooth comb, which you keep.

It's important to strictly adhere to the treatment duration specified in the instructions to eliminate both lice and nits. Most products will require a follow-up treatment in a week or two. You will be given your own comb to keep and mint/ citronella spray to protect you hair now and in the future against re-infestation.

All treatments are safe. We have never had a client have side effects.  At-home service affords you maximum flexibility; when one child is finished being checked, she can return to her everyday activities - no need to wait for little brother to be treated.

I Have Head Lice! What Do I Do Now?

  • First, try not to panic. Keep in mind that lice are more of a nuisance than a health issue.
  • Make a decision if you will try to remove all nits and lice yourself, or if you will call us to come and help you get rid of the problem.

  • Make sure to wash all bedding in hot water. Vacuum all furniture, rugs, and car seats. Put brushes, hair combs, and hair accessories in hot water for a soak over two hours.
  • Focus on only the clothes and items worn in a 24 to 36 hour period. Lice cannot survive off a head longer than 48 hours.
  • Everyone in the home must be checked for evidence of lice. Keep checking for up to two weeks because this is the life cycle of a nit.
  • Use your metal comb daily to remove any nits that may have been missed or to avoid re-infestation.
