There is nothing like the personalised and private care of an in-home visit. Service in your home saves you time and the hassle involved with driving you or your kids to a clinic. In addition, there are no worries about your lice-free child picking up a case at a salon or your kids catching whatever virus is going around.
Your technician comes to you in an unmarked car so if you want to maintain your privacy there are no worries of being spotted walking into a salon.
We bring all the necessary equipment for a full treatment. We will set up and prepare the area. We will talk you through the next stage. After gowning, we use conditioning spray to untangle the hair and make it easier to examine. Hair is sectioned and we will go through the hair with a specific lice comb that can easily find lice in the hair.
Diagnosis
Professional in-home lice removal service.
At the diagnosis stage we will inform you of the stage at which the lice are in their lifecycle, We will give you the correct information and appropriate means to eradicate lice in your home. We recommend checking all family members.
We can treat the entire family at one time. Head lice infestations can be particularly challenging to manage in big families due to the potential for quick spread and re-infestation. However, with a systematic approach and the cooperation of all family members, treating head lice can be a manageable task. If the presence of lice is found you will be informed of the necessary steps to take control of the infestation in the hair and valuable information on how you should treat areas in your home and soft furnishings. We will guide you through the treatment stage for each affected person.
This is a 2 stage treatment process, with combing on the days between 1st and 2nd appointment. Now you are on your way to becoming live free in under 10 days. Our expertise means that we get the job done right and expediently.

Treatment
Your expert lice technician will explain the process to you.
Lice oil is applied to the head and allowed to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Thoroughly apply the treatment product to the scalp and hair, ensuring complete coverage. Conditioning spray will be added to the hair to minimise discomfort when extensive combing will take place. Clinician will then go through hair section by section, hair by hair if necessary to remove all the live lice and as many eggs as possible, using a special spiral tooth comb, which you keep.
It's important to strictly adhere to the treatment duration specified in the instructions to eliminate both lice and nits. Most products will require a follow-up treatment in a week or two. You will be given your own comb to keep and mint/ citronella spray to protect you hair now and in the future against re-infestation.
All treatments are safe. We have never had a client have side effects. At-home service affords you maximum flexibility; when one child is finished being checked, she can return to her everyday activities - no need to wait for little brother to be treated.
I Have Head Lice! What Do I Do Now?
- First, try not to panic. Keep in mind that lice are more of a nuisance than a health issue.
- Make a decision if you will try to remove all nits and lice yourself, or if you will call us to come and help you get rid of the problem.
- Natural lice products are a must as well as our metal Lice Eliminator Combs. Make sure that you have someone to check your own hair for nits and lice. Most mothers that come in contact with their children get head lice.
- Make sure to wash all bedding in hot water. Vacuum all furniture, rugs, and car seats. Put brushes, hair combs, and hair accessories in hot water for a soak over two hours.
- Focus on only the clothes and items worn in a 24 to 36 hour period. Lice cannot survive off a head longer than 48 hours.
- Everyone in the home must be checked for evidence of lice. Keep checking for up to two weeks because this is the life cycle of a nit.
- Use your metal comb daily to remove any nits that may have been missed or to avoid re-infestation.
Awareness
Recognizing the Signs and Symptoms of Head Lice Infestations
Head lice are a common problem, particularly among children in close-contact environments like schools and daycares. While the thought of lice may make you cringe, it’s important to know that they are 100% treatable. However, it’s best to identify head lice early on when the symptoms are easier to treat, and the lice have less time to spread.
Below are the signs and symptoms of head lice infestations that you should know so that you can identify and treat the problem effectively. If you suspect a lice infestation, it’s important to take immediate action by using appropriate lice treatment products. Remember, timely intervention plays a vital role in eradicating head lice and maintaining a healthy scalp. At Lice Removal Dublin, we have the treatments you need.

Itchy Scalp
The most common symptom of head lice is an itchy scalp. The sensation is often caused by an allergic reaction to lice bites, though not everyone reacts in the same way. Pay attention to where the itching is happening. In cases of head lice, the itching is typically more pronounced behind the ears and at the back of the neck, as lice prefer these warm areas to feed and lay eggs.
Presence of Nits
Head lice lay their eggs, also known as nits, close to the scalp. Nits are tiny, oval-shaped eggs that appear yellowish or white and are firmly attached to the hair shafts. They can be mistaken for dandruff or hair product residue, but unlike dandruff, nits cannot be easily brushed away. If you notice small, oval-shaped objects firmly attached to the hair close to the scalp, it may indicate a lice infestation.
Adult Lice
Adult lice are small, wingless insects that are roughly the size of a sesame seed. They are tan to grayish-white in color and can move quickly through the hair. Spotting live lice crawling on the scalp or hair is a clear sign of infestation. These insects are most active in the dark, making it easier to find them at night using a fine-toothed lice comb.
Sores and Irritation
Prolonged infestations or excessive scratching can lead to sores and skin irritation on the scalp. Bacterial infections may also occur if the skin is broken due to scratching. If you or your child experiences these symptoms, contact your doctor right away, as they can get worse.
Visible Lice Movement
Sometimes, you may be able to spot lice by looking closely at the hair or scalp. Lice can move quickly, making them somewhat challenging to see. However, with a bright light and close observation, you may be able to identify them. Pay attention to the areas behind the ears, near the hairline and the crown of the head.
Fast, Effective Treatment for Lice Infestations
Recognizing the signs and symptoms of head lice is crucial for early detection and effective treatment. By being vigilant and regularly checking for these indications, you can prevent the spread of lice and minimise discomfort and potential complications.
